Beyond dark money: Information subsidies and complex networks of opposition to offshore wind on the U.S. East Coast


Offshore wind projects in New England are facing intense scrutiny from local opposition networks who are influenced by national -level groups and fossil fuel interests. Knowingly or not, these groups spread mis- and dis-information about the only renewable resource that can help us reach our energy goals within the science-backed emissions reduction targets. The article below investigates the recent burst of local opposition groups, their networks and connections, and the "dark money" which influences their actions.
